A Special Word from SVFCA's President


Dear SVFCA Members and Friends of SVFCA,

It is time for Sacramento Valley Floor Covering Association's (SVFCA) annual membership drive and SVFCA hopes you are planning on renewing your Membership or joining SVFCA. Reminder that a SVFCA Regular Membership also includes a WFCA Membership - a two in one Membership. (SVFCA Membership form attached.)

In this economy it is sometimes hard to justify belonging to an association but I would just like to remind you of the events SVFCA host to help our flooring industry.

SVFCA's held the following speaker events in the last 4 years:
- Sam Allman spoke on Heart and Mind Selling-The Key to Customer Satisfaction
- Jon Trivers spoke on Protect the Present, Invest in the Future
- Kimberly Gavin, Editor for Floor Covering Weekly, spoke on State of the Industry
- Bob Peoples, Executive Director of C.A.R.E., spoke on 'Green'
- John Simonson spoke on Web Marketing for the Retail Flooring Stores
- Jimmy Walker spoke on Why to be CFI Certified

SVFCA has had many training seminars from carpet seaming to vinyl seaming and has sponsored several CFI accreditation classes for carpet, wood and laminates. SVFCA has the annual SVFCA Holiday Fund whose purpose is to gift money to an industry professional who has financial need due to a medical, professional or life altering situation.

SVFCA will be celebrating their 25th Annual Golf Classic on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. This helps to pay for our speakers and installation clinics. It also pays for SVFCA's Holiday Fund and SVFCA has also been able to donate over $50,000 (over the past 10 years) to Children's Miracle Network. And we like to have fun too. We get reduced rates for SVFCA Members to the River Cats games and in the past for the Sacramento Kings.

Let's not forget WFCA's benefits too: Trade Scholarship up to $500 for approved business related education and training (as one of SVFCA members says, it's a no-brainer, to join for $299 get $500 back in training), industry's only consumer advocacy website www.wfca.org discount rates with B2B vendors, access to business and health insurance programs, savings on credit and consumer financing collections, freight and payroll services, and much more.

SVFCA's Board is made up of volunteers looking to make this industry better and we would like to thank you in advance for renewing or joining this long standing association.
